I don't where it's proven to be wrong ... and I rarely see an issue. That's not to say there aren't any as I have experienced the odd one, but in general Garmin works for me. There are also users who complain about TTs routing. Nothing's perfect, I've even seen folks complain about Google routing _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I've seen many a post around the various GPS related forums where after a suggested master reset Garmin routing has improved considerably.
Reading the various posts, and advice, it does seem that both map and firmware updates can cause routing to go haywire, specifically the phenomenon where it takes you off a fast road only to bring you back onto it some distance further along.
The advice seems to be, backup your data then perform the master reset.
Maybe Garmin need to take a leaf out of Microsoft's book and perform a reboot after a software update. _________________ Satnav:

Is that a hold the power key for 12 seconds reset? Or something else?
What does a master reset wipe off the device? _________________ Paul |

It'll normally remove favourites so you need to back them up first. Details are here
Touch View Map
Touch the Speed icon
Touch and hold the speedometer for approximately 5 seconds
Release your touch when the Diagnostics Page displays
Touch Clear all user data
Touch Yes when prompted to "Erase all user data?"
Note one other thing, many of the recent devices can be put into sleep mode rather than off completely. If anyone does have issues try a full shutdown first before resorting to a master reset. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

But you don't generally know that you have got issues until they occur. |

True. Just to be as sure as possible though, and if I have time and remember, I'll master reset after a software/map update. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I have it set to fastest. I'd say it did it 8 times. It would appear the minor road is faster.
I'll try a master reset..... |
