If its the Mini-USB style receiver are you sure its got power to it as they don't work without, if its the round style plug on the receiver have a close look at the socket it fits in and does appear broken/ bits missing etc, also these can require quite a firm push to get them to sit in the socket fully - Mike |

Try all the usual things:
1. a reboot
2. a return to factory settings
3. reinstalling the software

I had the same trouble. Luckily I had a spare one which worked straight away.
I did notice that the new one fitted tighter than the old one, so maybe it's wear and tear on the plug itself _________________ Regards

The plugs aren't very well made - especially as the wire pretty much has to do a right angle direction change as soon as it leaves the connection.
Try connecting it and adjusting the direction/angle you have it coming out of the nav unit. my first one would only work if it was under tension - I presume this was a sign of a loose connection under the plug cover - you might be able to coax some more life out of yours by experimenting - doubt it'd be a permanent fix though (my cable was eventually stolen and the replacement one has so far not shown the same problem).
