i just changed the units on the tt to kph, it was easier, if i saw a 30kph sign and the tt was indicating 30kph too easy, however divide by ten and multiply by six will give you a speed in mph on the lower safe side, ie 30kph divided by ten is 3kph multiply by six is 18 mph
kph ---- mph
50 ----- 30
60 ----- 36
70 ----- 42
80 ---- - 48
90 ----- 54
100 ---- 60
110 ---- 66
120 ---- 72
130 ---- 78
as you can see if you compare to your speedo they come out just under hence as a quick guide, on the safe side |

A more accurate coversion would be to divide by 8 and multiply by 5, 80 KPH = 50 MPH _________________ Charlie Gregory

but the 10/6 gives you an envelope of safety, and in my case it easier and at 100kph you are 2.5kph over the limit |

any idea whether the GPX converter is OK with these speeds? I tried converting the CSV files to GPX (mainly so they don't list as Custom Points) forgetting to set the speeds to KPH and it threw a right wobbly...
well, it gave an error message for every one it couldn't convert. Changed the settings to KPH and it ran OK. Uploaded them to i3 but then it dawned on me that the i3 would assume the speeds were in MPH - that's what you set the POI loader to. I can't think of an easy way to upload two sets of camera dbs one in MPH and the other in KPH, apart from converting the European ones to MPH.... |
