i followed it to the letter, the only thing is when i open the asc file in poi editor it stays as a asc file, i have to save it in pio editor to change it as a csv file, but still it does not work, i feel really stupid but this is really starting to hack me off, |

What do you mean, you have to change it in POIEditor to a .csv? Navman's POIEditor reads .asc files and they transfer directly to the device from it. _________________ Tim |

I specifically updated the guide to reflect the fact that Navman now use .asc files, much easier and no editing required. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Download, extract and then start SmartST and follow the procedure. DON'T open the .asc files in anything, no need! _________________ Darren Griffin

You have possibly associated .asc files with Notepad, but they shouldn't just open of their own accord. Right-click on an .asc file, then click 'Properties' and see if Notepad shows next to 'Opens with'. If it does, can you change it? _________________ Tim |

You don't need to do anything IF you selected to make the POIs 'Active' and setup audible and visual warnings for them. I also set visibility to maximum. All this can be done from POIEditor.
If you haven't done this, you can do it from Preferences, Safety Alerts, Active POI. You will need to select each POI in turn and ensure Active, Audio warning and Visual Warning, then adjust Distance to POI as required. I use 1/4 mile for cameras. _________________ Tim |

OK connect your iCN to your PC but don't start the Navman Desktop. Use Activesync and explore the device. Look for a directory called MYPOI and tell me where it is (Device or SD card) and the directory structure. _________________ Tim |
