I've tried playing around with this, but I can't get past the part of unzipping the database on the app thing it just keeps saying the following Picture and Sound CSV files couldn't be found.
I've tried following the instructions but I'm not too clued up with this sort of stuff, what I'm doing wrong probably is something really simple for you guys and you're probably thinking what a "retard" .
I want to try and get it working though as I like how you can change what info it displays in the warning banner when the alerts pop up. Any help appreciated,
Cheers. |

You are trying the CSV to GPX Converter, yes ??
If so, have you linked the Converter to your Working Folder (where you keep your camera files and voice warning files etc) ? This needs to be done.
In the Converter, press Program Options, and then Working Folder.
Now you can navigate to the folder where your camera files etc are filed.
Select it, press OK, and you should be on your way. _________________ nuvi 2599LMT-D, oregon 700, basecamp, memory-map. |

Once you have unzipped the package you will see this:
The help files are marked in red. Choose any one, they are all identical in content. Everything is explained in detail in there.

I managed to get all the blocks green after unzipping the relevant files and had a play around with the alerts distances, I take it the time in seconds is how many seconds it warns you before you hit the cam, ie if you set it to 10 seconds it warns you when you are 10 seconds off going past the camera?
Also I changed the banner display writing pressed save and it saved it but after processing them and uploading them to my unit the banner writing is still the same as before? What have I done wrong? |

Hmmm, it should have performed the text change on processing.
Open the first .gpx file, which should be 'gatso_fifty.gpx' (Notepad will do to open it)
In my gatso_fifty the first camera name is SE-GATSO:46#50, third line down.
If yours is the same then it hasn't performed the change.
I won't delve any further till you reply. _________________ Satnav:

The text change can only happen after you have processed the CSV to GPX as it needs a 'known' base to work from.
So the sequence is:
Download the database (if not already done)
Run the main CSV to GPX 'Process'
Then go to the Text Change screen and it should show 'Unlocked' and the blue boxes will show the alert text selected. Adjust as required.
Note: for a Garmin leave the @50 or the Garmin won't know what speed to alert you.
Once sorted, run the 'Process' from that screen and it will 'change' the text.
Text before change:
Text after change:

Did you read my post above?
After you run the main Process ...... you then go to the text change screen before using POILoader _________________ Satnav:

Yes sorry, I didn't read it properly, problem solved thank you. :-). Does this process need to be done with every update? |

It does
What you have set in the text change screen will stay put.
However ..... after you have run the main process don't go straight to POILoader but to the text change screen and run that 'Process' as well.
I did try and work round it a bit more elegantly but each new PGPSW download builds the PGPSW default camera ID's, example NW-Gatso9999@50. What the text change does is find and replace text withing the .GPX files.
So don't 'Finish & Launch POILOader' but just 'Finish'. Then go to 'Text Change' then go to POILoader. _________________ Satnav:

It's like a lot of things, once you've got it working the first time, each weekly update is a breeze.
I don't change the text as I just rely on the spoken warnings, they are all I need as an alert. Hence why I had to look up the text change procedure.
With regard to the weekly update, the program, when loaded, will tell you when a newer database is available. _________________ Satnav:

Yes this is the main reason I wanted the PocketGPSdatabase on my nav for the spoken alerts also. |
