Hi All,
Does anyone know if the map corrections you download get reset for each map & version?
i.e, on a previous v8.65 map, I know of at least 2 roads which are corrected by downloading the map correction files.
On my new v8.70 map, the incorrect road details are still shown, however these have not been re-corrected after downloading a fresh set of corrections.
Basically, do we now have to wait for v870 users to resubmit all the corrections again, before they are distributed in the correction files?
I have tried to use my v8.65 map correction files for the new v8.70 map, but they didnt work as suspected.
I can kind of see the logic to not accept any previous corrections to a new map, however if that section of the map has not been updated, then surely any previous corrections submitted should still apply, esp if they were verified by TomTom?

That doesn't really follow.....
The whole idea of Mapshare was that corrections from one map were used to improve the next map, rather than have to be carried over into it.
If v865 has 30211 MapShare map corrections in use
and v870 has 1494 corrections in use, then MAYBE ~28500 corrections from 865 were used to produce the base map for v870.
I'm not saying they actually were, but that was the idea so some of them might have.... _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

Andy, I think you are partly correct.
But, the way I see it is simply that as v865 is older than v870, then there have been more corrections submitted and 'verified' over the map's lifetime.
v865 is older than v870, so more corrections are in the system for the older map.
