Drove into Dartford Tunnel with full live servies came out the other side iwth no connection to server. That was wednesday and had no connection since. Anyone got any ideas.
Recovered from a backup to see if that had any effect but didnt. Have also noticed that the light on top, by the on off switch, no longer changes to green, it always orange.
Think i know what your all gonna say but all ask none the less.

Next then is the restore factory defaults from the menu, format the device and re-install your backup, if you don't have a backup created using Windows Explorer you should make one now before you do anything else - Mike

I do have backups made from windows rather than HOME. Just to get this right before i try. I do as follows

1. Restore factory defaults from the menu on device.
2. format the devices drive. ie delete everything.
3. copy contents of backup onto device.

Just want to check but doing this wont stop it booting will it.

The steps you describe seem fine to me and once complete it will boot up - Just to make sure you don't delete everything on the device, you need to right click the drive letter associated with the TomTom and select Format, don't choose the Quick Format option - Mike

Just been digging around in the menus and found a network tab where it shows info for "tom tom live connection status"

has fields for

Status: Not Connected
MCC/MNC:
SIM ID:
IMEI:
Model:

All the other fields are blank.

Would have thought at least sim should have an ID. Have removed and re inserted it but no change

That looks like the Sim card or the GPRS modem in the unit has died, give TomTom Support a ring on Monday morning to discuss a repair/ replacement on 0845 161 0009 - Mike
