Hi I am a newbie so you will have to excuse if this has all been said before but I have just upgraded from 3.5 to 4 and am a little dissapointed and wanted to see if anyone else had similar problems or if I have done something wrong.
1. On the "Safety screen" if it goes to 5 lines of text the 5th line is not visible due to road icon overlaying it.
2. I am using Navman jacket with driver supplied but says "No satellites even though it has a fix and of course I get no signal strength meter.
3. I have downloaded the Gatso cameras but these don't seem to give notification at any consistant specific distance from camera.
4. I have to keep re-ticking the POI box as it works fine then for no reason all the on screen POI's go and when I return to box it is unticked again which is a pain when you want to see where the Gatso's are.
5. In built up areas such as central London it is hopeless compared to 3.5 as it does not map down enough to see what road you are supposed to take and sometimes it does not map down at all like it cant get the data in quick enough and just shows a green line with no roads and to top it off it no longer gives the exit number you require off a roundabout...
I have formatted cf card, reinstalled software, reinstalled Navman driver and still have all of the above problems are these common or is something wrong with my setup ? |

I can only suggest something for #2 - CoPilot 4 is known to reprogram the GPS receive when you use "Find GPS" . Try not to use that but rather specify the GPS settings manually. Use your sleeve diagnostics program to re-enable the GSA, GSV, and GLL streams. (keep RMC) _________________ Lutz

Sorry for that...
Did your navman jacket come with a program that allows you to configure its settings? If yes, what program is it? _________________ Lutz

Would you know the exact model of the jacket? This way we can identify the chipset and suggest a program that you can use for the configuration _________________ Lutz

It was bought as a package, it was the one that Ipaq marked up as their own with the words "Ipaq Navigation System" printed on it and bundled with Copilot 3.5 |
