Hi . Everything seems to be working ok now with my iPAQ rx5720 & MMap, but why do I get 'Simulated Input' message on the Info button. I've read up quite a lot about GPS but haven't come across this term.Regards. Spill.

I suspect this is a license related problem or your GPS settings are wrong on the PDA. On the PDA if you select Menu/ GPS/ Satellites does the unit actually display any GPS information?
If not try Menu/ GPS/ Set-up and what options are listed in the window - Mike

HI Mike. Yes if I go GPS/satellites I get a window into which gradualy the satellites appear, I have done a 4 mile walk and the position indicated was very good

If its working and showing the correct position on screen I would simply ignore what it is saying - never seen that message before on any of my units - Mike

Hi Spill,

The error rang a bell being such an unusual one and sure enough it looks like a few other users have seen it, have a look at:

Hi Dave.
Right, I've tried all the settings recommended there and get back to (Can't open port com),so I think I'll just ignore the (Simulated Input) message like Mike suggests.I now have set to.

GPS Program Port----Com 7
GPS Hardware Port---Com 1 Baud Rate4800
Manufacture NMEA
Port Com 7 Baud 4800.
Manage GPS Auto (Ticked). Thanks for your time & INPUT. and thanks again to Mike.Regards .Spill
