Socket GPS USA

Hi all



Back from a holiday in Florida but a little confused? I used my Socket GPS and Mapopolis software when I arrived to find where we were staying, I have to say I didn't like the software much being a TomTom user in the uk! After that I didnt use it again for about 4-5 days, when I treid the Socket unit again it would not find a fix at all?



Could it be that the GPS signal could have been turned off? When I got back in the UK it worked first time when I switched it on?

I have also just returned from Florida (21/4) and used my Navman every other day with no problem. I too used mapopolis and didn't like it as much as TomTom part of the reason being the poor search facilities and different naming conventions for roads in the USA, Mapopolis often knows a road as North Orange Blossom but where I am trying to get too is only detailed as Orange blossom. Mappopolis didn't find it until I entered just 'blos'.
