Some of the new features look good, the ability to add POI is a big plus. I also suffer from audio breakup with my 3970, this is a pain so lets hope it is fixed.
Any news on an upgrade price? Can I upgrade my Compaq version?

So far, I haven't seen anything on the UK site and haven't received any emails from Travroute UK, so no idea about prices and release dates in the UK. |

Information will appear on the UK site shortly, I must say at this stage that the version is not complete but it may be in a couple of weeks, we're currently working with TravRoute at the moment. |

Co-Pilot version 4 has been announced (at CeBit in Germany) and there are some details on the US website here.
Tim
CoPilot Live | Pocket PC 4 is now loaded with these powerful new features, all designed to handle the tricks and distractions of every day travel while you concentrate on driving.
NEW! Customizable Display lets you decide which pieces of navigation information are displayed on CoPilot Live's screen. You can choose among current Road, Crossroad, Current Time, Speed, Elevation or Nearest Town.
NEW! Lane Change Warnings alert you to upcoming left exits, ensuring that you have plenty of time to safely get to the proper side of the highway.
NEW! Side of Street Notification tells you which side of the street your destination is on, making it easier to locate the right building when you arrive.
NEW! Waypoints let you tailor your route preferences and allow you to pass through a particular area on the way to your final destination.
NEW! POI Import capability allows you to import and manage custom Points-of-Interest. Build your own POI database from personal contacts, popular destinations, or third-party lists. Manage the data on your desktop, then download it to your Pocket PC for use while driving.
NEW! Regionalized POIs provide access to more than 3 million Points-of-Interest on your Pocket PC. CoPilot Live is the first product to download only the Points-of-Interest that are within your chosen map area, saving you space while giving access to more than 3 millions POIs across the country.
NEW! Routing Options have been expanded to include Auto Quickest, Auto Shortest, RV Quickest and RV Shortest.
NEW! Communication between vehicle and home or office, with two-way messaging, vehicle location and itinerary updates.*

According to the US web site, it would appear that the new software can be used with any NMEA receiver and not just Travroute's own hardware. Indeed, in the software-only version information, there is no mention of hardware dongles (ie special CF card as in v3.5), so hopefully they have gone for a different anti-piracy protection (a la TomTom2 perhaps?).
For me, the main negatives of v3.5 are the speech breaking up (at least it does on my iPAQ 3970) and the lock-in to Travroute's own hardware (ie no bluetooth support). If they have sorted out both of these in the new version, I might just be tempted...

I have just bought Co-Pilot 3.5 two weeks ago. Will there be an upgrade path?
Some of the new features look very practical but mine already gives me "Side of Street Notification" and allows me to input "Waypoints". Are these features not new but improved? |
