Hi all
New to this forum so please forgive my greenness :D
I have an old Palmtop GPS receiver (which I think is an OEM LEadtek GPS9531) which I used to use in-car with a Psion Series 5. That died some moons ago so what I'd now like to do attach a standard 9-pin RS232 connector where the Psi-Win connector used to reside. I'll then hook it up to my laptop.
Having removed said Psi-Win connector I can now see four wires... a bare wire, black, brown and a pink.
My question is this... can anybody on the forum tell me which of these is power, Tx and Rx? Perhaps somebody has already performed this exercise? |

Actually it's probably orange rather than pink. Colour has faded over the years... |

Hi Tankertop,
I had the same set up as you and have got a serial connector on my GPS-9531 which is marked up as a TomTom....The pin assingments are as follows.
Brown to Pin 2
Orange to Pin 3
Black to Pin 5
Red to Pin 9
And if the power supply is the PS/2 plug, it goes into the mouse socket to power it up.
I run mine on my Dell laptop and it always works very well.
