I am looking at purchasing my first Auto GPS and have it narrowed down between the Garmin Quest and the Navman icn 510.
I really like the Navman but have heard of some mapping issues from TeleAtlas which I think is used for the Navman and have not heard anything negative from the maps used for the Quest which I believe is Navteq. I live in the U.S. and have not heard as much about the U.S. version in terms of the quality of U.S. maps. Any input would be greatly
appriciated!!
Thanks

I got my Navman 510 a couple of weeks ago. So far, I used it on a trip to San Francisco and just this weekend, San Diego, as well as around LA. The maps have been very good. I too read about the problems with TeleAtlas but have found any mistakes to be minimal. For example, some of the POI's in the small town I live are not very up-to-date. I know nothing about the Garmin, so I can't compare them. (However, the Quest's small screen was reason enough for me not to buy it.) I would suggest listing where you live in the US and would most use it and seeing if anyone has used the 510 there. I can't make any promises, but I would be surprised if you weren't happy with the 510... I couldn't be more thrilled with it.

Good luck!

I have used Garmin GPS V and just purchased icn 510. City Select v4(very old version) is installed on GPS V, but I guess the POI accuracy is a little better than icn 510. But the price tag for icn 510 is much cheaper. ($300 at outpost.com). [/quote]
