Morning all,
My dad's found our old 57 LM when having a clear out recently, so though I would connect it up and update the maps, which worked fine. But there doesn't seem to be any sound, no navigation voice (tried a few different ones) and no button tones (it is turned on). I did update the language file via express and do a factory reset but still no luck.
Something else I found was the service menu, where it shows what I believe are the spoken instructions its says no wav file found so wasn't sure if this was maybe the problem or maybe the speaker was kaput. Just thought I'd ask before I do anything else.

I'm not familiar with the '57 LM', but it sounds like you have done enough to undo any configuration changes that might have made it go mute. It should probably at least 'beep' on a 'button' press.
It's not unheard of for the speaker(s) to die - I seem to have thrown all my spares away, otherwise I would have offered you one.
(I bought a Zumo last year that was completely mute, out of the box. I assumed it didn't have a speaker (being a motorcycle unit) and that the car mount would contain a speaker) It was only after a conversation with Garmin, that I found out that it had actually been shipped with a dead speaker)

Are there are voices listed in Settings, Language and Keyboards, Voice language?
Cheers for the replies folks, yeah all the voices are listed and setting set to on maybe just a broken speaker then
