You'll need the old file deleting from your Garmin (or its SD card), or else you'll probably get double warnings (one from each file)

PoILoader gives you the option to delete this old file, before you load the new data.

PoILoader also lets you select (via a drop-down list) either the Garmin or its SD card to hold your camera data.
I have mine on the SD card, but it makes no difference unless you're exceptionally short of storage space in one of those locations.

Just give it the same name as last week and it will overwrite the old one.
But if you have been in the habit of giving them different names in POILoader then you will have to delete the old ones.

That is what I do, as well. I use the same name.
It's the easiest way.

Same here.

POILoader uses the Windows folder name as the POILoader filename so as long as you always use the same Windows folder, which POILoader remembers, then you will always get the overwrite prompt.

What have you got the 2 alert distances set to ?

I use 14 and 6 as these were the old Talex time periods and I found them perfect.

I have got the approach set at 15, the overspeed at 15 (I'm not fully sure what that does?)
And the blue box next to VAR at 70? What does the blue box do? I left them as they were.

The approach at 15 is fine, 15 seconds before you reach the camera you will get an alert.

Drop the overspeed to about half that so if you are getting closer and still over the limit you will get another warning.

It's all explained in the manual.

@Kremmen How does overspeed work on a variable?

@T5YOB Have you actually read the incredibly detailed help file that Kremmen explains pretty much everything in about 5 or 5 different formats? They are in the CSV - GPX Converter download.

Thanks for your useful input, I have indeed, most of which took a bit of getting my head round as it's something I've not done before/familar with, hence asking on here. I don't recall seeing much if anything about the purple box next to the VAR section?

And thanks for the reply Kremmen, I'll drop them like you suggested, Cheers.

@KREMMEN
If op has set 15 seconds, why are his alerts for variable cams coming so late?

No idea, I have mine set to 16 secs and they are working perfectly. The only ones I have set to almost zero are Specs where I don't want any significant advance warning.

The database holds variable as zero so the conversion puts in the value from the screen variable default which is set to 70 on installation as mentioned.

@T5YOB I'd be interested to know what value is in the variable file with regard to the 'proximity' value.

What I've never done is have the approach and overspeed both set to the same value.

Do you think that could possibly be the cause of the problem K
