Right, now me Garmin GPS 111 is talking to my laptop which is loaded with AutoRoute and Memory-Map and I can see where I am when I get lost but I want to take this one step further.
Although I have not told my dear wife yet the idea is for her to have the laptop on her knees and naviagte for me becasue I have not yet seen a self contained GPS with a decent size screen. However, AutoRoute and Memory-Map are not proactive, unless that is, I have not understood them so where do I go from here?
Is there any software that I could load onto my laptop which I could use to plot a journey and which would direct me by voice through the microphone in the laptop?

Also take a look at our CoPilot Laptop review
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/copilot-live-laptop7.php

There are other cheaper packages like InfoMap Navigator, but the quality shows, and you will be blown away by CoPilot on the laptop compared to InfoMap Navigator.

I should mention that the link I posted takes you to a software and hardware package. As you don't need the receiver, look here for a software only solution.
