Etrex connecting to PDA via Irda

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if this would work?

Use Etrex serial data cable, connecting the serial end to a serial-to-Irda cable, and then using this setup with Destinator 3 for PDA?

My PDA only has Irda and no bluetooth or CF

this will work if the serial-to-IRDA cable doesn't need any driver. Have a look here
