Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to use the various different car icons on a GO300?

I know my GO is old but but it's better than my Start as it can use the camera database.

If it is possible, could someone explain how to do it?

Yes it is possible.

As a first idea, see the tab at the top of the page "Free Downloads", then "Customise your satnav". There was a time (before TomTom stopped it with more recent models) that we used to create them for you.

Thanks Dennis,

I did download a couple and put them in the "art" folder but can find no option in the tomtom device to change the icon.

Sorry, I left my 300 a long time ago. Cars folder is sub folder under Art folder.

My memory says changed it under "Change Preferences".

Hmm. Maybe I’m wrong and it can’t be done on the 300.

Searching around I find a few details.

Feature was introduced later than the 300, giving option in Change Preferences.

Software update might have added it to the 300 - what’s your software version? Ever been updated? (You won’t be able to update it now).

It only works with display in 3D mode.

Have you tried changing the filename to -default.bmp?

Backup the original just in case. Wink
