|
|
Hi
What is the best way to get a speed camera database with audible sounds on my volvo 70 2013reg sensus nav system ?
I can download the speed zoned database but how do I "convert them" into *.gpx frmat and how do I install them together with the sound files.
I know I have to use a fat32 formatted usb stick and go to "add POI" on the volvo system somehow.....
Can anyone enlighten me please - or even better does anyone already have a working speedcam database converted to gpx format that they can email me?? |

It is against forum rules to email a database to anyone, this is because of the security markers.
There are some GPX format databases available for download.
What is the underlying SatNav structure ? GPX often indicates Garmin. _________________ Satnav:

Hi
I believe that the SatNav structure is a Nav-Tech product. I have already installed the speedcam / mobile / traffic light camera database with audible sounds from speedcamupdates.com but the camera locations and mobile sites are way out of date.
Do I just download the pgpsw camera database and convert it to *.gpx format using a batch tool ? If so how do I gat the audio files in the correct format ?? |

Can you read the speedcamupdates GPX file in Notepad?
If so you may be able to do a side by side comparison and see what's different. _________________ Satnav:

@ Kremmen. Does the standard Garmin .GPX file have voices? If not, how about using GPI converter and POILoader to prepare a Garmin type GPX file with just a couple or three cams in it around tim's location as a quick test to see if it works on tim's system? |

No, POILoader matches CSV or GPX to BMP and WAV (with SOX)
I'd be interested to see the GPX file that works.
I wonder if the SpeedCam data still needs POIloader _________________ Satnav:

I can read the gpx database from speedcamupdates in notepad. They have been configured from "www.topografix.com/GPX/1/1" and published by "http://www.w3.org/XMLSchema-instance"
The individual gpx files look editable
There is an online poi converter from ov2 / csk / *** / files to gpx
Shal I just download the consolidated file from pocketgps and convert them online ?? If so how will the existing camera.bmp files work ??
Anyone tried this??
I don't want to brick my Volvo sensus satnav system..... |

Firstly, have you actually got any third party POIs working in any shape or form on your device? If so, how are you getting them onto it?
I assume that you are now a fully paid up member here with access to the PGPSW data?
It's difficult to advise without actually having access to your type of device. |

If they are in GPX format then download the GPX set from here and compare.
GPX is just another form of XML with different tags. _________________ Satnav:
