There's also a problem with volume control (Android) that has been reported numerous times, but again no response has been forthcoming. I have always run CA through my phone's internal speaker but it is so loud on my Galaxy Note 4 that I have given up using CA, and now rely on the less than accurateTomTom Go database. Whilst it isn't as comprehensive, at least my ears don't bleed whenever I get warnings.

Section 6 c: 'Custom warning volume'

Problem solved...?!

As far as I'm aware that is only relevant if I listen to CA via the car / Bluetooth, whereas I'm using the phones internal speaker, either way I have the slider set to minimum volume but it doesn't do a thing.

Problem not solved .. !

In which case why not just turn down the media volume on your phone?

Because then I can't hear directions from TomTom Go if I turn the volume down

Just to let you know that I got this message when opening the app on my 6s (iOS 10.1) on Saturday:

"CamerAlert" May Slow Down Your iPhone
The developer of this app needs to update it to improve its compatibility

That's just Apple's way of telling you that the app is 32bit running on a 64bit OS... It's intended to embarrass the the developers and get them to upgrade their code to 64bit... Also means Apple are not responsible for any performance hit you see using the app.

It's just a shame that the dev team at PGPSW are still happy keeping their heads down and letting us use such an old app... They appear to be adopting the Apple approach of radio silence when questioned about a new version or criticised about the current OAP version.

Just to echo the above comments.

Using Iphone 6 and IOS 10

The current app has also now developed a regular habit of crashing / quitting on my phone while in use.

Would say that the app fails about 20% of the time when used - leaving no warnings sent.

The Iphone is the only device that I use the database on these days, and after subscribing for almost 10 years now, as seriously considering cancelling when my renewal comes around again.

Sibs, please check you iPhone, is there enough space, battery, or is there some other issues around, I am driving with iPhone 5S and iOS 10....1, the latest software and I don't face your situation, for example yesterday I drove 5 hours, 4 Saturday and many hours during the week and CA or iPhone never crashed or stopped (the phone was located in cars snap-in-adapter, so it was charged all the time and connected to cars antenna and map view in CA was turned off).

Sounds like the CamerAlert app may get booted from the AppStore if this article is to be believed!
