TT seem to have changed the Route Planner after the last map update for my GO750. I just can't seem to make it work. I had no problems at all with the previous version. The mapping now comes from MyDrive - I can't remember what it was before. Does anyone have any tips for using the Route Planner?

Likewise, it is now fairly useless. I have not found a way of setting my home location like on the previous version - I now use Google Maps which also takes traffic into account and will also suggest alternative routes
As an aside, I now use Google for navigation most of the time for the following reasons: accurate ETA, free map updates, free traffic, much better POI search. _________________ GO 750 Live HD Traffic, Map Europe 930, Navcore 9.510 |

I have 2GB/month and have been very pleasantly surprised how little data Google navigation uses. I had thought it would have used more. I have yet to come close to exceeding my data limit - it was actually the guy at 3 who suggested I move to the lower tariff plan based on my usage
Also, the satnav built into my Cactus has useless ETA info, useless traffic and useless poi search. Because of the dashboard layout, there is nowhere to mount my ageing Tom-tom 750 Live in any case. _________________ GO 750 Live HD Traffic, Map Europe 930, Navcore 9.510 |

Do you mean the online one - https://mydrive.tomtom.com/en_gb/? (used to be http://routes.tomtom.com) If so it changed sometime over holiday season as I used it to check traffic before leaving work (as previous version did things via url you could save a route as a favourite).
When I visit it I see in top left a few icons and when you hover over them it expands to show - then you just enter post code/address - as you enter details it starts offering you options. In some ways it seems better, but to see all the details (such as length of delay) you need to register an account and I have yet to bother _________________ J. |

Thanks to all who have responded. I haven't looked at anything since I sent my post due to illness. It is as JimmyTheHand's link shows. I will have another look when I have got the energy. My initial thoughts are that it is another backward step.

Unusual for TomTom to do something sensible nowadays
Maybe they will begin accepting the Pocketgps camera alerts sometime? _________________ GO 750 Live HD Traffic, Map Europe 930, Navcore 9.510 |

Strange new one is still there from links on TomTom pages and I was redirected yesterday to MyDrive version at work but tried it today and ended up with old version (I suspect work's proxy may not have refreshed properly as at home today) _________________ J. |
