|
|
Folks - I have a couple of questions regarding this unit
1. When I plug the unit in via official garmin usb lead to pc, it recognises the Nuvi but defaults to Mass Storage Device, even though I have selected MTP auto detect on the unit - how do I get it to default to MTP?
2. If I try to charge the unit with the garmin usb lead into a standalone usb mains charger it changes to normal start up mode but then says "the attached power cable can not charge your device. use the cable provided" - I am using the cable provided! Do I have to get a separate mains charger - if so an aftermarket one or a garmin one?
Thanks |

No, but I wouldn't worry, the first thing I did when I got my 2508 was set it to mass storage mode _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

That MTP auto detect must be auto detecting something unusual and assigning a drive letter by default. _________________ Satnav:

is there a benefit to mass storage mode then? I seem to prefer mtp as I can into the unit whilst it is under usb power |

You can't access .system folder on later nuvis unless they're in mass storage mode. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
