I have just bought a new Mazda 3 2014 model with built in sat nav and it has speed cameras in the map that warn with voice warnings and visual on the screen.
I have to download the updates for the cameras with the map updates every six months it says on the site naviextras.com
I want to use the PGW database and was hoping i can use it on my car satnav as it has a SD Card for updates, if it can will someone tell me how to do it please.
I have looked in the sd card folder and there is a folder for speed cams can anybody tell which database to down load and try please.

Thanks

Are there any clues in the handbook? Do you know the makers of the satnav software?

The handbook here page 6 says to connect it to your computer. I suppose that it should then start TomTom home or whatever that allows you (or doesn't) to update stuff. You may be lucky that TT have allowed the addition of User POIs.

I meant a link to the correct page on Naviextras that you invited me to go to. How do I know what I am looking for when I am there?

If that's not the correct handbook, then tell us what the satnav is and what the correct handbook says about it.

However you might just get lucky and find someone with your satnav that has done it, but from your second post bumping the thread, it doesn't look likely.

I am awaiting delivery of new MAZDA 3 Sport Nav. and have been doing some research on the car in general & the Sav-nav particular.

MZD Connect this is the main link.
http://infotainment.mazdahandsfree.com/home?language=en-EU

You will need the MAZDA TOOLBOX installed on a PC/laptop link:
https://www.naviextras.com/shop/portal

under map updates is a link to https://mazda-eu.naviextras.com/shop/portal?live.ui.locale.code=en

the disappointment I see is, there is NO RDS on the radio for TMC
You have to use a smartphone WiFi hot spot to to access paid for traffic & POI's plus the cost data download.

On one page it states that the SD card is, after 62mls/100Km it is date encoded for the 3 years free updates, and most likely not not transferable to another vehicle and not copyable.

One thing the the Sport Nav has is a digital speedo, switchable between miles & Kilometers

Hi TonyV53,
The satnav in the car is very good and the speed camera notification is also very good but I feel the camera database is not up to date as only having the car for 1 week there are a lot of mistakes on cameras not showing up and cameras that are not there showing up on the sat nav.
As far as I can find out the database is only updated every SIX MONTHS and that is why I was trying to find if there is some way how to use the PGW database.

Regards

Hi ROBCALLY,
over on gpsunderground.com some guy's were asking if the mapping SD card could be read or copied.
But as of yesterday I have been unable to access the site, maybe the server is down or it's being blocked, it's not a site for hackers just forums for GPS & sat-nav, hand held, portable, & in-car. I found a lot of help with my Avenesis sat-nav.

Back to your 3, did you order it or buy from stock? if ordered what was the delivery time?
I ordered my Sport Nav Blue Reflex (42B) on the 31March with delivery date mid May, fingers crossed.

I'm in the UK

Regards.

Hi TonyV53,

I have just tried that website and i cannot get on it too,

I ordered my 3 on Jan 11th and picked it up on April 5th and it was a week later than they told me but I have it know and its great.

If there is any thing else you need to know about the car I will gladly let you know.

It is a 120 ps sport nav with the safety pack fitted in Aluminium Silver and I traded in a 2009 Mazda 3 sport nav.

Please ley me know if you get any info on the satnav using the PGW database.

And I am also in the U.K. West Midlands.

Regards.

Hi ROBCALLY

As for the missing site gpsunderground.com I came across this site which throws some light on it's demise.
