I have CamerAlert on my HTC Desire HD software 2.3.5 and always assumed it was working OK. I had thought when passing Mobile site with van in place, that the reporting of it was not very user friendly. Recently the excellent Android manual has been updated and on reading the Active mobile site section was surprised about the "ding" and tick and cross appearing at the bottom of the screen, has I have never heard or seen them.
Whilst driving yesterday I ran Cameralert alone - normally run TomTom Android with Cameralert - and can confirm that I definitely do not ding/tick/cross.
Am I missing a setting?
Is this a HTC desire HD issue?
is it An Android 2.3.5 issue?
I presume that I would not see Tick/cross if running with Tomtom android?
regards

Hi Alan. Just in case, do you NEVER get warnings of mobile cameras or was it just the one?
If just the one, could you have a look at the Submissions map to see if the camera is actually on the database.
If it's all of them, check that you are asking for them to alert you :- [Settings] - [Cameras to warn about] - ensure [Mobile] (and [Unverified] for good measure) are ticked.

Yes everything is ticked. Its happens on all mobiles. I do get a list of mobiles and over speed warnings just no ding/tick.
I have never had ding/tick and had factory reset my phone perhaps 6 months ago and it did not happen before and certainly does not happen now. Only realized I should get ding/tick when reading the new manual a few days ago.
Regards

Update:
Have just changed my phone to a Nexus 5 running 4.4.2.
Taken it for a drive just running Cameralert and do still do not get any ding/tick/cross when passing the three mobile sites on the journey - I do get warning for the sites.
At a bit of loss with this. Am I missing a setting?
Regards

alanlakes, just to let you know that you are not alone. I don't get the tick/cross option either. I saw it once or twice a while ago (possibly on a different phone or version number) but no longer. I've checked the settings and there doesn't seem to be an option to dis/enable. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Thanks AliOnHols
I was beginning to think that I put the mockers on phones.
I shall do some more experimenting. I do not show the map but will try it with that turned enabled. Will also try showing cameras that are behind me in the list.
As I said in an earlier post I did not realize ding/tick existed until the manual was updated.
I suspect there are a lot of users out there that do not get ding/tick. It may due to the phone type or software level. Any way of finding this out?
Regards
