I would like to update the maps though, but is it possible as I assume TT have removed support for the older units, which was nice of them, good job Mr Gates didn't do that innit.

If it's the latest maps for the 710 you're after Europe is £59.95, Western Europe is £49.95, or UK is £39.95 at the TomTom Map Shop.

Wow does that include the unit too, that's a lot for just a few alterations, I'll take my chances with the old maps and risk going down a street which no longer exists, or up new one which is sign posted to where I need to go Rolling Eyes if they charged £9.95, we all update more often, and the pirates would have nothing to do.

Thanks Anita.

Yes they would. They used to pirate the PGPSW cameras when it was just £2 for a download (Quite a few years ago)

Bearing in mind that TomTom are also the map supplier, they do have to make their money on it. And if you can afford to buy two devices, surely you can afford maps for them? Shame, really, last week I received about 7 emails advising me I could get a special offer on the Europe map update service for less than they are charging for just one map today.

The units were quite cheap, cheaper than the maps would be, and yes they do have to pay for the maps, and when the units were new they were part of the price, we are only talking about upgrades, not a new map totally re done, anyhoo, they are what they are and I'll have to do without.
