Hi Guys,
Have bought a Mio M616LM which was being discounted at Argos and seemed pretty good value for the spec. I have mixed views generally - good internal POI database, but can't find how to specify a 'detour' off the calculated route. Also, natively doesn't seem to handle mobile speedcams. I've asked Mio about this, but they haven't replied yet!

I planned to use the PGPSW speedcam database anyway and proceeded to load it up. I received warnings about a 12000 POI limit which I duly ignored and ended up with about 15000. The SatNav seemed a bit sluggish to use, but on the road while navigating it just froze, occasionally waking up, spouting a few directions then going back to sleep again.

I've read a bit about trimming the database to get below the 12000 limit, but I'm not that far over and the device is completely useless. Has anyone found a good compromise to get this model working OK with the PGPSW speedcam database?

A bit more information.
Having deleted all the Speedcan POIs and confirmed that the unit was back to normal and functioned OK, I added just the mobile cameras - about 6500 POIs. This time there was no warning message, but when navigating a route, the unit froze again. It would wake up about every 5 minutes, shout an instruction, then freeze again. I really don't think these units are suitable for any significant 3rd party POI additions.

Also, had a reply from Mio about the inbuilt mobile speedcams. They say these are available through the TMC. Surely not...........
