You'll need to put sox.exe in the same folder as POI Loader in order for them to work.

AFAIK, the latest version of sox.exe may not work.
PGPSW have a version that is known to work properly, see here for instructions and a download link:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/speed-camera-alerts-garmin.php#installation
It would be really useful if you can report back on the version number of the one you downloaded and whether it did work or not (plus a link if it did!) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Drove home this morning with the nuvi on, I have installed the voice files with the speed cams but no chimes.
I did receive about 4-5 verbal warnings on my route home. I also received the garmin bongs... as I had them ticked in the audio proximity alerts...Do I need that ticked or unticked? Im not sure if I should have that on or not if someone could please advise.
Im off to bed now and will be going in tonight again, so if someone could please let me know the right settings when using the voice files .
thanks again.. _________________ ***************************************

I tend to leave both on - but yes you can untick the audible alert but you'll still see the PGPSW icons together with Garmin's own visual warnings. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

ok, thanks for that.
Do we still need to install in seperate folders as in , no more than 32 in each folder? I have the uk speed zoned complete which I have put into, 4 seperate folders on 1 micro sd card. on another I have the consolidated by type along with the new sox.exe. off from sunday for 4 days so will have a chance to test things a bit better..
thanks again.. _________________ ***************************************

Hi again, the files appear to be working ok.
I installed the current sox.exe from here.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sox/files/sox/
when i installed it with the poi loader, it also asked for the zlib1.dll extension.
There are not too many cameras in this part of the world and as previously mentioned , if you are not going too fast then you wont get a warning.
So, yes I have had warnings but might help if someone else tested too.
Can someone also confirm if we still have to split poi`s into seperate folders on the garmin`s or not .
thank you.. _________________ ***************************************

I just realised this may get seen by more Garmin speed cam database users if it's in the Speed cam section of the forum.
I'll move it, but leave a link to it in the original Garmin section. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
