CamerAlert on Parrot Asteroid

I've downloaded the CamerAlert app but i have a couple of questions before i subscribe....

I take it that you need to have a 3G connection to get the maps side of things to work?

Can it run in the background as i have a satnav on the Parrot Asteroid that stores the map on my SD card would it be possible to run both apps together?

yes, for maps to show (and for database updates) you need 3G

CamerAlert will happily run in the background.
