Stolen overnight 20-21/11/2011 Milton Keynes area


In case it helps others in the same situation - look for your backups on your PC and find a file named ttgo.bif (might be worth looking for any .bif if you have a different model). Open this file with notepad or any simple text reader - you will find a lot of config data including your serial numbers.
Annoyingly, it also contains the map reference and street name of my "home" setting

I find it very strange that here in the U.K after all the television programmes about Sat Nav theft that people are still leaving them in their cars, for years now we know that this has been going on so why on earth do i still see 2/10 broken windows in my street each week. We even know that we have to wipe the window with a cloth when we leave the car, so i am afraid to say i have no sympathy for those who still leave their valuable things in the car,

I am starting an e petition to get manufacturers to do more to make theft of Sat Navs less attractive, presently Tom Tom have show little interest to me in my loss other than keen to sell me a replacement
