|
|
I have a Tom Tom start 25! when driving on the M25 towards junction 23 I am getting 30 mph warnings. There is a 30 mph stretch of road beneth the M25 with camera's showing on the screen. Is there any way off solving this problem? I can not find anyway of getting the camera's to alert on route only! like my previous Tom Tom One.
Thanks in advance for any help with this problem. |

Are you using the TT database, or the PGPSW one?
If it's the PGPSW offering, then the only 30mph camera near the M25 in that area is close to Junction 24.
If it's the TT offering - _________________ Richard

If the roads are actually on top of each other there's nothing you can do.
The whole POI warning system just works on proximity in two dimensions, it's got no idea of height.
Similar "false positives" exist in west London on if you are on the elevated section of the M4 or the A4 underneath it. Both have cameras and you wil get alerts if you are on the other road too. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

If there's a MOBILE camera site on a flyover, you can't assume they are targeting the road underneath.
I know of one location that targets the road underneath and/or the road it's on (both NSL A roads). |

It's already in there and correctly alerts on both roads. The database is fine - this is a 'human thing'.
You get the alert, you see the camera on an overpass and you assume they are looking at the road below (i.e false alarm).
As I passed the van, I saw the side ports were facing inward and the camera was looking out of the rear port. I don't know, but I suspect they could probably watch both roads at the same time.
The message is, for MOBILE camera sites at least, work on the principal that they are pointing at you. |

Thanks for all the replies to my question on camera alerts on the M25!
I have the pre installed Tom Tom cameras, and the PGPSW camera's both installed on the Start 25. All the replies lead to the fact that this is a common problem that I can live with! Thank's again Topic |
