I have a TomTom XL Classic which does everything I need but it has a time lag of a couple of seconds when driving along.
So far this hasn't been a big problem but it has caused me to miss my exit on roundabouts a few times.
Do the newer TomToms have this lag or have they fixed it?
Any recommendations would be welcome TomTom or otherwise. Don't need live traffic etc. Of course need to be able to add custom POIs. Up to £150ish.
Thanks. |

How many POIs do you have Enabled to show on the Map (not Warn When Near as this doesn't affect the Map redraw)?
If you go into Change Preferences - Show POI on map, or Browse Map - Options - POI, untick the categories until only 2 or 3, at most, are used. _________________ Richard

The only ones ticked are the speed cameras from here but the lag was present before they were installed. |

Well depending on the version of the speed cam database you've installed, that could mean up to 33 POI categories. Did you try the experiment of showing just one or two, to see if it made any difference?
Lags are usually due to the processor working too hard on SOMETHING, so anything you can try to reduce that load would help point to the problem.
Also try a reset. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
