Sorry to be a pain Guys, but I've got another problem.

I thought that I would add some golf courses to the POI page today.

I am trying to add Peralada Golf Course which is in Spain near Figueres at 42.31321907129225,3.0229300260543823

Using "find a location" on the submissions page , a search for peralada directs me to the middle of nowhere in France, near Carcassonne at 42.89498,1.882217 but shows the details of the golf course in text but with no icon. Scrolling the map down to Peralada, Figueres, Spain reveals no icon there either.

To change the original (& wrong ?) location I need the POI ID number, but without the icon I can't ID it (i think). Or is my Web Browser just giving me the RunAround again?

Also - does Crazy Golf also go into the same Recreation - Golf Club category ? It gives me a lovely image of a few dedicated golfers turning up with all the gear to do some serious BallWhacking just to find that they've been directed to a sea side attraction where they have to guide their ball through a chicane and under the windmill.

Ali

Have you tried this as "Find a Location"?

Do you mean POI Icon? If so, it's because there has been no submission ... to date, at either location. The text you see is supplied courtesy of Google, and nothing to do with PGPSW POIs.

You will need to have a word with Google about that. Wink

I hope not. Shocked

Would be better under "Other Attractions" - or should that be 'Distractions'.

Thanks for that Oldboy. I had wrongly assumed that the text I see relates to an existing PgpsW POI, I didn't realise that it was Google sticking their big nose in (yet again).

Yes, the Find a Location works as expected when Lat/Longs are entered, no problems there.

Ok, I'll set it up as a new submission and not as a change existing.

Regards, Ali.

Ooops! Sorry, I've just entered it on the submissions page (with an additional question in the Comments field). The submission has got the phone number and web-page included.

As long as a satnav can search, and find, by a local administrative area identity then it only needs a Name, or Street, Identifier to separate one POI from another. Well, that would be the ideal. Rolling Eyes

If you were looking for a Golf Course by Name, you wouldn't necessarily need to know which Province, or County in the UK, it was in. How far, and how long to get there would probably be the first interest.

If you wanted to find a Golf Course in a place you might be going to, you would be better off using the smallest administrative area that the satnav would accept. In this current case it would be better, and more accurate, to use Peralada than Girona.
