Depends on the TT. There are user guides on this page. Scroll down quite a long way.
Or if you really mean POIs not speedcams, you will have to wait a while 'till someone else who knows about this.

The big question is what model TomTom do you have, as the methods used to add the POIs are very different depending on whether you have an older model that uses TomTom "Home" for it's updates, or a newer one that uses "MyTomTom".

The link that was given above takes you to a page of links to instructions for adding the Speed Camera POIs from this site, adding ordinary POIs is just the same, but you probably won't need the steps for "Warn when near..." (unless you want to be warned about your local MacDonalds!)

There are links for a lot of sat-nav brands, but the ones for the different TomTom models are all there.
