|
|
I hope I am going to explain this OK.
I didn't realise that the cameralert database put cameras into Copilot and I had sideloaded them directly into Copilot Save as directed.
This produced duplicates of the cameras.
I then deleted those I have manually put in and all cameras disappeared.
I uninstalled and reinstalled CameAlert, downloaded the database again and no cameras came up in Copilot.
I have reloaded/sideloaded them again, directily into Copilot and they have duplicated again.
I have deleted the safety cams and the .ezp file as suggested in another forum.
Can anyone out there help me?

The CamerAlert app is a standalone app. There is no way for it to 'sideload' cameras into other apps.
Sorry I can't help you much more, it's been a long time since I used CoPilot and even then they kept releasing updates that would totally change how you had to fudge the database onto it...

I have CamerAlert purchased from Market but when it loads CoPilot no cameras are shown there.
I was led to believe that the CamerAlert would show the cameras in my CoPilot 8.
Can you help me more? _________________ Best wishes

CamerAlert is a standalone app, it is not possible for it to show cameras on CoPilot. We don't claim it can show cameras in CoPilot or any other navigation app, it's simply not possible for us to do that.
What it can do is run at the same time and provide audio alerts whilst another navigation app is in the foreground or vice versa. Or you can use it on its own.

Just as an aside. Is tinpatra talking about CamerAlert the app, or the CamerAlert database in his original post as it is not really obvious to me? (How ridiculous calling the database the same name as the app so that it is now impossible to distinguish between two entirely different products unless the first question is "Are you talking about the app, or the database?")
I suspect tinpatra is refering to the cameralert database as he said in his first post, not CamerAlert the app as the replies seem to be pointed at.
Having said that there is obviously confusion, as his second post definitely refers to the app.
PS. What does 'sideloading' mean. |

I have CanerAlert the app on my phone and I have linked my phone to this website and I have paid my subscription and downloaded the database and I have selected to launch CoPilot from within the app. This is when I expected to see the cameras in my CoPiloy navigation. No Luck
When I say I have sideloaded cameras I mean I have followed the instructions for downloading the camera database from the site and putting them directly onto my phone in the "SAVE" file as stated in the instructions. This is what gives me duplicate cameras and I don't know how to get rid of one set of them.
Does this help? _________________ Best wishes

It looks like you still have the CoPilot safety cams re-loading (they will appear like duplicates).
A possible solution may be found in my posts in the thread http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=88444&highlight=.
Hope this helps, if not re-post. _________________ HUAWEI P30 Pro (new edition) with Speedtrap Alert & alcatel1 for SatNav

And, if you are using the CamerAlert app AND loading our database INTO CoPilot, you will continue to get duplicate alerts, it's one or the other. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I agree with Darren.
You can download the GPSW speedcams into CoPilot and select to show them but disable the speedcam audio alert (in CoPilot) and allow the alerts in CamerAlert.
I have selected a female voice for CoPilot & male voice for CamerAlert, this helps to attract attention. _________________ HUAWEI P30 Pro (new edition) with Speedtrap Alert & alcatel1 for SatNav

Dear all thank you for all your help
I think I know what I will be doing now.
To answer your question Duddy I have deleted the CoPilot cameras and I have also deleted the .ezp file which kept relaunching them.
I think I may have been somewhat of an idiot with the duplication thing as I think the cameras I was looking at are two way. I will have to wait and see if I get duplicates all the time when used in anger maybe later this week.
Anyway at least I have something tht works so again thanks alot.

Do have a read of the user-guide, gives you some insights into the many settings that can be tuned to your personal preferences.

I'm sure I won't be the first to ask, but is there any chance of something like a pdf file so that it can be used on the device with CamAlert instead of having to access vi the web - PLEASE !!
