Hi Mike,
Are you able to tell what the problem was - in laymans terms??
Just out of interest, because it seemed like a funny one.
Cheers, Bob
Basically if tracking was turned off when in a SPECs zone certain flags were not cleared properly. Tracking can be turned off either manually or by driving in a tunnel and losing the GPS fix.
When tracking was restarted the App thought it was still in a SPECs zone and would only get reset after passing through the next one.
Got you, can see how that happens.

That was me and my fat finger again! I twigged it earlier and emailed Admin who replied at 2:15pm that it had been corrected - probably a minute or two after you updated. The Specs (Average Speed @50mph) cameras at that junction are now correct - three eastbound (counting the pair at the entry slip as one of the three) and two westbound. Download again please for it to be shown correctly.
We're sorry to muck you about like this. Might I hope for the consolation that we have sorted it far quicker than the time most other providers would use to get back to you with an auto-reply saying your issue is being investigated.
No worries. I will check on monday again.
Anyway, today again on the way back (eadtbound) I got the issue and after the last specs camera I never got the " all clear" and I kept having the 70 warning on screen.
To answer MaFt, the warning before the last specs camera showed 634yds.

mmmhhh, I get this issue in clear sky and the gps signal is very strong with a stable fix.
I will try the new version when available in android market and hope the bug is fixed. I will report back.

I see. Perhaps when cameralert is running in the background and sharing GPS with another app in the foreground, on some phones the gps signal is not continously available to cameralert, thus causing this issue.
I will test on monday and report back

Nothing to do with that, the GPS data is served to all apps that desire it in equal measure, the issue as we understand it is interruption of signal, for whatever reason, local conditions, atmospherics etc etc _________________ Darren Griffin

Ok. It is just that I have that issue every time, every day. So, I am a bit skeptical that the GPS signal is interrupted every time at the same location. In fact, it happened also a couple of days ago, with a beautiful day an no clouds.
We'll see with new version.

I am unhappy now
I used the latest updated app today on the way to work and back.
In both directions on the same M4 spot it still did not work (the cameras are up to date and correctly located in the right spots.).
Again, I get notified on screen of all SPECS (2 westbound and 3 eastbound) but I never get the "ALL CLEAR" and the 50 big image comes up on screen again and agian as soon as I get back to the 70Mph speed after passing the SPECS.
NOTE: Actually, with this latest update of cameralert it got worse. Now, when I get to the last SPECS (the END one), I can see on screen the popup "Average 50 E 630yds", but the audio warning ("Average 50") does not play. This happened in both directions.
The audio warning does play correctly for the S and M specs.
Before the udate to latest version, I did at least get the audio warning.

We never play audio for End SPECs. So it works better now than before. Looks like a peculiar combination of cameras at that location. Would you maybe be able to have a passenger film the screen on that stretch? _________________ Lutz

Hi Lutz
For information...
Centre Latitude: 51.49920 Longitude: -0.72249. Roundabout junction lies between locations 1 and 2 below.
The camera layout there is as follows...
There are five locations. Reading from 1 to 5 they have
1. Eastbound Start camera. 90279@50
2. Eastbound Start camera AND Eastbound Mid camera (one pole, T head with joining access Start and main carrigeway Mid). 90470@50 and 90287@50
3. Westbound End camera. 81551@50
4. Eastbound End camera. 90288@50
5. Westbound Start camera. 90289@50 _________________ Dennis

OK, if it is not supposed to play the audio for END specs, than that is fine.
As per the camera locations, DennisN already clarified in the previous post.
Sorry, it is really not possible for me to have a passenger. But, I can say that I do not see anything strange on the screen (at 50mph I can look at the screen now and then without losing control ;)). I can see the red banner ("average 50 S/M/E...") for 1-2 seconds about 25 seconds (that is what I set for the warning on screen in the settings) before I arrive to each SPECS.
The GPS signal seems stable (cannot see any evident loss of signal).
Then, I get to the END SPECS, corectly announced on screen and that's it. The "all clear" never comes.
Every other camera (mobile, fixed, etc...) work fine and I get the "all clear".
Just for the sake of crapshooting, can you please confirm you haven't enabled "Ignore direction" in the settings?
I haven't.
But, tomorrow I am going to try by using cameralert in the foreground, just to rule out that it is a problem of using the app in the background with "Sygic aura" in the foreground.
