Hi does anyone have a new Tomtom 1000? What do you think of it and can you use the speedcamera download from this site on it? |

The auto censor will prevent me from posting what I think of the Go-1000 and you cannot install the database from this site to it as it uses a locked down file system, third party POI file support might be added some time next year but I somehow doubt it will include options for spoken alerts using the ogg files - There are better devices out in the market place than this IMHO - Mike |

Thanks Mike. I do a lot of business miles and the HD traffic on my Go 950 has been very hit an miss. What would you suggest as a better device? |

Garmin have some great devices. I wouldn't recommend any of the new TomTom devices, GO 1000, GO 1005 or VIA personally. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Just to put the other side of the coin.... I though the general opinion was that whatever the relative merits of the hardware, Garmin's Traffic was still nowhere near as good as TomTom's?
If you want to stick with TomTom, have you looked at a Go x50 or a refurbished Go x30? |

It's not HD Traffic bit as far as RDS-TMC goes, it's one of the better solutions - and subscription free.
Personally I still don't rate HD Traffic and wouldn't pay for it. _________________ Darren Griffin |
