|

I've just bought a new TomTom One XXL and recently downloaded the Pocket GPS safety camera files including the voice files in ogg format. I've placed them into my units map folder and I cannot get the sounds to work but the camera warning shows on the map display when driving, not the big icon warning on the upper left of the screen though.
My TomTom is running firmware 9.053.520930.2 and map Europe West version 855.2884.
The original TomTom Speed warnings worked fine with sound.
I downloaded the Pocketgps speedzoned file and voice files ( also speedzoned ) and when I select warn when near POI I can select the eg Gatso 30 and when I do the screen changes to distance and when I put in 300 yards and select ok nothing happens, I do not get the option to warn if on route either.
I have disabled the TT speed warnings to no avail. I've used both files on my TomTom One XL in our other car and it works perfectly.
I'm mystified !
Hope someone can help.

Try putting the *.ogg files in the sounds folder. _________________ David |

I've had that happen occasionally when I've inadvertently selected "No" on the "Is this the sound you want?" screen. I've found that after a reset "Warn when near" works fine again. _________________ Anita

Do you have both the normal and the X2 icon files installed in the map folder? You need both. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren,
Yes I do but I have sorted the problem out now. I connected the XXL to my pc and operated it via Home and everything worked as it should have done via screen presses on the tomtom. When using home and my mouse to do the exact procedure I'd tried earlier it worked as after setting the distance to warn to 300 yards and pressing ok it then asked me to use the ogg file sound and after clicking yes the warn if on route checkbox screen appeared. This will not work via the XXL's touchscreen when disconnected from my pc/home ??. I've tried a route demo and the warnings are now working as they should.
Thanks to you and the others for trying to help me, it's appreciated.
