I would appreciate some help, as I'm getting incredibly frustrated looking around the various manufacturer websites.
1. The Navigon 2300T model is on sale at Halfords. This model is not listed anywhere, even in a search, on the Navigon website. Is this a genuine Navigon model?
2. I am considering this, but only if I can use the PGW database subscription on it. I have picked up vibes this might be possibly by using POIWarner. However, the POIWarner mentions Navigon Mobile Navigator. Is this something running on the Navigon, or completely independant software of the devices? There is no mention of this on the Halfords (or or retailers) websites, and nothing on the Navigon website (because the model isn't listed).
3. If the POIWarner software runs on the 2300T can I use the database through it? (I can cut down the database to make it small enough for the Navigon).
4. If the POIWarner software doesn't run on the 2300T, is there another way to get the database on it?
5. If not, any recommendations for another Navigon device (eg Navigon 40), or advice to avoid for another brand? (I am currently disatisfied with my TomTom and the world's most useless battery inside it.)

Welcome littlepaul . If you go to the customer support page on Navigon's website and click on "Handbooks for NAVIGON PNA's", you will find a full user guide for the 2300 there. The Shop and Products pages show only those devices Navigon are currently marketing (so they don't show my 8310 either for instance). Mobile Navigator 7 is the Navigon operating systerm which runs on the 2300.
Yes, you will be able to load the PGPSW cameras. The POIWarner being referred to is sold by navigating.de @ €19.90 (inc VAT) and runs on the 2300 (and on pretty well every other Navigon device as far as I can tell). I don't think you will need to cut down the database, unless the 2300 memory is unusually small; the 4xxx, 7xxx and 8xxx can certainly hold the lot, + other Points of Interest databases people can be interested in. _________________ David
