Manufacturer: TomTom
Model: ONE XL 1 GB
Serial Number: L11257I00080
Device Unique ID: AK8AC CJCTN

*Has small curved scratch on screen.
*Safety pin fastened around arm on mount.
*When turned on, it will have an X-ray of Homer Simpson's head with the TomTom logo as his brain, and the traditional TomTom logo on the main screen.
*Gigaware charge wire and mount also taken.
*Was kept in a Crown Royal sack.

Device was stolen from my vehicle on the night of December 10, 2010 between 4:30 and 10:00 PM while I was working. Assailant entered front passenger door using special tool that punched through the door just under the handle, then using another tool to actuate the lock and open the door. Window was not broken and cosmetic damage was minimal.

Location of incident: Pathmark of Hackensack
405 Route 17 South
Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey

I had my car ransacked the other night for the second time in two years.

I won't say "broken into" because this time it was partly my own fault - the central locking mechanism on the front passenger door is getting sticky and it hadn't quite locked.

Interestingly, although I lost a camera which I'd stupidly left in the glove compartment overnight, this time the thief didn't seem interested in the multitude of TomTom mounts, RDS-TMC units and charger leads that were also in there.

Last time, they all went.

That's tough, especially all the paperwork to make a claim.

Ive got a nice laminated sign from Hampshire police that says, "Nothing of value is left in this vehicle". Never used it as suspect it may entice more interest, not less.
