Tomtom XXL (zoned maps)

Just tried to run the map guarantee update on my new XXL and home tells me the 2gb memory is not large enough for the full Europe map. Instead TT offer the user zoned map of Europe. I always use a sat nav on holidays so deciding which zone to choose is a dillemma.

In the past I have relied on the SD expansion slot which TT no longer fit to many of the range. Does anyone know if its possible to download the full Eurpope map onto an SD card so that all of the maps I paid for will be available. Have emailed TT a few times with no response to my enquiry.

I think this is a cop out on TT part surely those clever guys must understand that device memory requirements will only increase in size! They have been using the same flash drive in most units for years taking away the SD port limits functions for safety camera,s & traffic
Its becoming a case of buyer beware with Tomtom

Not sure if the XXL has an SD card slot, but if so you can do what I did with my 720. Copy the contents of your internal memory to your SDHC card (I recommend at least 4GB) and using a card reader connect the SDHC card to the computer. Home should recognise this as your device and will offer you the full Western Europe download
