Montala... I bet you a beer voucher that you wouldn't notice any difference.
If you find any good errors on the map you've got, make a note of them.
Then when you get back, ask on here if someone who has bought the new map can check for you to see whether they have been corrected. |

I shan't take you up on that one Andy, as I have feeling that you are almost certainly right... mind you, if you do ever find yourself in the North Herefordshire area, I will be delighted to buy you a beer anyway!
Last time we visited Portugal, I remember that they were building some new roads from the Motorway, down to Albufeira, but hopefully these will have already been added by now.
I will certainly keep an eye out for any errors though, as you suggest. |

I Spoke to TomTom today re map update. Was told they are not yet available despite the emails earlier in the month saying they would be. I asked for a release date and the helpdesk operator went to ask colleagues. The response was that I really didn't want to hear the answer. -Problems do we think?
These maps are apparently to be zoned so we can download part maps or the complete thing. They are, as previously mentioned, going to be much larger with supposedly a lot more detail.
New version of tomtom home coming out also.

TomTom CS has just said....
Quote: | Basically the hold up is that there have been some issues in producing the Western & Central Europe 2GB for the high end devices due to the size and the compression that is needed to be done for the map to be usable and to be of the highest quality for our customers.
As I mentioned we don't have a specific date of when this version will be released.
Customers who have purchased a Map Update Service subscription, effectively you have purchased 4 map updates, which you will receive. Customers will not just get 3 updates, they will receive all 4 updates. |

Interesting - another new version HOME on top of the one released yesterday???
Wonder if they will give us all a UK&ROI 8.50 map whilst we are waiting? |

With 4GB memory cards less than £10, why not issue a larger map to all those whose TomToms have card slots? I know that leaves some customers waiting, but now ALL customers are waiting. _________________ John
