|
|
I went to Currys today to purchase a new TT One. I asked the salesman whether the new One allowed connection for the TMC by means of a jack plug as is the norm on the V3 unit. The salesman said yes, so I asked to look before I bought. There were none in stock!!
Stupidly I then went next door to Argos and bought one and as the queues were so long opted not to go via customer service and have the box opened. They have a no returns policy unless faulty. Opened the box to find that the TMC receiver is different
Is there an adaptor available that will allow me to plug my old jack plug into something like a splitter to allow it to work, or must I buy a new receiver?
Really annoyed with myself now
Also, when the V3 came out, someone posted a way to customise the menus. Is this able to be done on the V4 too?
Thank you

I assume you are comparing the new USB style connection for RDS-TMC and and older seperate circular plug for RDS-TMC?
If so, then there is nothing available to change one to the other.
You would need to purchase the new USB style connection.

B*gger, that's what I thought. Time to trot off to Amazon then as they have them for under £25 at the moment.

I'm pretty sure that you could/can still return it to Argos because you are buying from a catalogue and it might not be what you want. I know I've returned stuff to argos after I've got it home and it either dosn't fit or its the wrong colour. |

They state at the time of purchase and at point of paying that it is ineligible for return or exchange unless faulty. They also then tell you when collecting before they will hand it over to you, so I think i'm screwed.

I think they have different rules for Sat-Navs from 'ordinary' stuff. (maybe something to do with gear that has software licences?) |

Got to take it back now anyway, it's faulty . Turning it on today gave an image like looking at a negative, so had to turn it off and then back on again. Why couldn't it have done that BEFORE I ordered the new receiver ?
