But requires you Jailbreak your phone to use. Just to clarify for others!

An option as requested from another user is the ability to route sound via the iPhone speaker even if docked with some device that routes audio through FM Tx or Line-Out.

Apparently Trapster has this feature which works so it is technically possible.

I use a Kensington LiquidAux charger and Line-out kit so when it is plugged in via the sync port all audio is routes to Line-Out.

I can only hear the alerts therefore if I have the stereo set to Aux.

With the option for internal speaker I could retain the facility to hear the alerts when Aux is not selected.

Or through the bluetooth into the car kit so it mutes the stereo and plays through the speakers. That would be cool.

That would require extra hardware though? As it stands the iPhone can't stream audio via BT can it?

The TomTom iPhone car kit doesn't use BT for audio, that is sent via the sync connector.

I use my iPhone with the TomTom car kit but I also have a Sony Bluetooth car CD Radio. The iPhone will only play audio through one or the other. In practice I can use the Handsfree through the Sony no matter what I'm listening to - CD, Radio or iPhone but CamerAlert (or TTN) will only play sounds when the Sony is connected via it's Bluetooth channel. In effect, I have to use the TomTom car Kit for alerts otherwise listening to radio I would not be alerted other than visually. It also seems the iPhone can only connect to one Bluetooth device at a time. It would be good to be able to choose to play only the alerts through the TomTom Car kit and everything else via the Sony. I don't think the iPhone allows this.

This is a hardware issue with the iPhone and not something that can be resolved by alternate settings as you rightly point out the iPhone can only connect to a single Bluetooth service of any given type (in this case both the car kit and the Stereo will be using A2DP so its one or the other but not both at the same time).
To listen to the radio/ CD and still get handsfree + alerts through the car speakers consider looking at the iO-Play module as an addition to the car as that does allow what you want - I use it this way most of the time - Mike

It can! I haven't tried it on my bury HF but the feature is there. It does work on my BT head set, so there!

Not sure if it can or not. Confused

According to the Bluetooth standard it should be possible but if Apple don't let you do it then that's the end of it. It was just an off the wall idea.

The continuous alert for over speed near a camera would still be my number 1 added feature.

I think we both know that is not what I was referring to, BT Stereo Audio to an audio device, not A BT Handsfree device Evil or Very Mad

I stream music to the car system using Bluetooth and it works very well, the same device also acts as HFP mode so is capable of handling phone calls as well - To do this the Bluetooth kit in the car must support two channels at the same time (A2DP and HFP mode) the iO-Play does this and it works really well with an iPhone - Mike

How about having the voice alert volume linked to the road speed or at least have the ability to manually adjust the volume as I find it a bit too quite at higerh speeds.

BTW it's a brilliant app.

An excellent App. One thing annoying is when your speed is varying approaching a camera, and it alternates between an alert and all clear. Can an additional option be added so that the warning registers a user defined distance before the camera rather than time (user can set either). Thanks

problem with this is that you may well be 100 yards from the camera but if you are inching along in dense traffic then these 100 yards are meaningless. "time to camera" may be counterintuitive but it's the only way to give you appropriate reaction time.
