|
|
I am using a kenwood G-520 sat nav with the GTM 10 traffic receiver.I have successfully updated the 520 with the latest software using the Garmin updates on an SD card.
The problem is that according to the software download page for the GTMxx series of receivers, it can only be done by using garmin webupdater which requires the device to be plugged directly into your PC.
This is obiously no good as the unit is permanently fitted into the car, so how else can it be done ?
I hope someone can help |

I thought the GTM units were updated when next plugged in to the nav unit which contains the newer operating system and the revised Bluetooth drivers, the device sends the data to the receiver when its first switched on my GTM12 certainly used to work this way - Mike |

I checked the GTM software version after checking that the main unit had successfully updated (which it had) but the GTM remained unchanged so I assume it must be done seperately. |

marfos experience matches mine. The GTM updates are seperate and need to be loaded on the unit with WebUpdater then, as Mike says, the GTM unit is updated when plugged into the unit. However the GTM software isn't a part of the unit firmware. If the unit firmware is avalible as a downlod but the GTM software isn't i can't see away to do it easily.
Where are you downloading the firmware from? |

The firmware is on the garmin website under "software updates and downloads" and then "additional software" |
