|
|
I can no longer find the option to buy the map update service. My map update service has expired but there is no option in Home to renew it. If I click on the banner it just takes me to the map page. If I try on the TT Website or from the renewal notice website, it just opens Home and takes me to the maps page. I have the latest map WCE 840 from the update service.
Called TomTom and it was suggested that I would have to buy the new map when it comes out then take up the update service again. Rather an expensive way of doing it. _________________ Drivelux |

I just looked at this. My new (refurb) GO520 has the latest map (840), so I fired up Home and clicked the "Add Maps" icon. This presented me with a list of available maps (to buy), but also quickly put up a popup window saying I currently have the latest map (UK & ROI) and I can keep up to date by buying the update service for £27.80. Maybe that would work for you? _________________ Dennis

No popups but I received this email today saying please update and "Renew before 14th February, when the new maps are released, and you will not have to pay to upgrade to the latest map", so there's a good hint as to when the next maps will be released! _________________ Drivelux |

I have tried different versions of Home and different backups of navcore and older maps and not one offers me the map update service. With the older map I am offered the purchase of 840 but no offer of the map update service.
Whilst writing this post I have discovered that as soon as I log out of Home (I autologon by default) I am offered the map update service so I accept it anonymously then it automatically logs me in and lets me purchase it. _________________ Drivelux |

Thanks for the info. I've been having exactly the same problem but that worked a treat. _________________ Keith

My subscription to the map update service ran out on the 21st January'10 and I recieved an Email from Tom Tom on 23rd January'10 asking if I wanted to renew my subscription with an instruction to connect my Tom Tom unit and click on a prompt to renew. This connected me to Home and the renewal was carried out in minutes. I can't suggest any reason why you didn't receive the same service. |

I thank you too, why TomTom cannot manage to sort this sort of thing out I do not know. |

I've been suffering the exact same problem. Offered the service via email, clicked through, connected unit via home and ended up with map page. Connected today and gave it another try and got the map page in home but followed by a popup allowing me to purchase. Maybe they've sorted now! |
