Not sure.

But depending on the software on your gps you may be able to use POI-Warner from HERE (opens in a new window).

Yes, the page pocketgps has pointed you is right, specifically "POI-Warner for MobileNavigator|7" is the one you need. Press on 'continue' to have a closer look, including a 'tour' of the product.

See (search on) 'POI-Warner' threads on here for info about the product, its use, its problems, ... You should get a bit more of a feel for it there.

Be warned... it's fiddly to get going; but it's the only option to get PGPSW's cameras and any other 'personal' POIs you may have onto the unit.

You'll get plenty of help, if you need it, from these threads and from asking others here.

Good Luck!

Should have mentioned this in my first post.

If you click my sig it will take you to my web site that was originally for installing POI-Warner on a Medion PDA. Although you do not need to convert the files using PoiEdit these days it will show you what POI-Warner is all about.

Hi

Seen a couple of threads on the web that say Navigon has blocked the software from March this year on MN7 which wont allow you to add Speed Cams, etc?

Any truth in that?

I have emailed support before I purchase POI-Warner

I'll be interested in the reply - I think mattius is also asking.

But I very much doubt the truth of this 'rumour', presumably relating to the new (current) product range - sounds more like people having installation problems and guessing! Examples from this forum:

- speedygonzalis has got it working on his 8410;

- jonandmarkuk has posted that German forums say it's working ok on the new units (he's always pretty well in tune with developments);

- davidnewey has it installed on his 7310

Info of any interest to the rest of us, by any chance, Pocketgps Confused ? (I'm intrigued by the 'rumours' and where they might have come from)

When I attended the recent MPH show in Birmingham I spoke with the UK manager of Navigon who was present on their stand and who suggested that work was in progress to allow independent 3rd party POIs to be more easily loaded onto their units sometime next year.

In the meantime however, since I am considering a Navigon, how good is the speed camera database that comes with Navigon units as standard? I wouldn't expect it to be as comprehensive as the PGPSW database but is it any good in the first place??

I gave him some contact information.

Hopefully within the next 72 hours he will have a proper answer. I am sure Mark911 will then be able tell us what the real situation is.

For interest re POIWarner - today navigating.de said
Quote:
The use of POI-Warner is legal but it is an unsupported modification of your Navigon System. Therefore, if something goes wrong, Navigon will claim that POI-Warner is responsible for that and make you pay for the repair. However, POI-Warner can be removed completely in case of doubt.
