A couple of questions before I buy:

1) Do the speed cams include the mobile sites?

2) Is there an option to navigate to co-ordinates?

Im using CoPilot at the moment but the main problem with that app is the bizzare routes it sometimes suggests and the fact it is unusable in walking mode. Any comments on the routing and walking mode functionality of Navmii ?

1) YES

2) Not at the moment

routing seems sensible, not had any weird and wonderful (copilot) routes. there isn't a specific 'walking' mode though.

I've just bought Navmii and am pretty impressed. I had to reset all data on my iPhone to get the GPS to work properly (not sure why this works, but it did!). I've not had to do this before, but I'm not sure you can blame Navmii for that problem. It was a pain though, it took about 4 hours in total to reset and get resynced.

Navmii has a clean, simple interface and is much nicer than CoPilot to use. The main map display is very clean and uncluttered. Nice app.

Here are a few features I'd like to see added to future upgrades:

1. Detour button.

2. Route preview allowing you to avoid certain roads/calculate new route.

3. Ability to paste into address searches

4. iPod controls accessible from main page (Play/pause, FF, RW + Vol.) to save having to double click the home button which sometimes dumps you out of the app if you get the timing wrong!

5. The odd button in a dialog message would be cool. Sometimes a message appears and won't clear until you tap it. An OK button would clear up any confusion as to whether the message is waiting for a tap or not. The 'calculating' message goes away on it's own, others don't.

I'm very impressed at how minor that list is. I absolutely detest CoPilot and it's very nice to have an app that's so much better at such a reasonable price.

One thing CoPilot does seem to be better at is the initial GPS fix, and it seems to keep up with you around roundabouts, etc. more smoothly, but so far I can't ever imagine wanting to go back to CoPilot.

Live traffic and live searches (google maps style) would be nice, but I'd much rather have a simple app that just works than a bloated interface nightmare like CoPilot.

One slight fix problem I found is that when pulling out from a junction, the speed indicator would start going up immediately, but it takes about 10 seconds or so for the map to start moving.

ok, downloaded and installed.

First test was to check its suggestion for my usual route to work. The suggested route was slightly better than CoPilot, but still nowhere near the best route. So far, only tomtom has selected the most suitable route.

Not a particularly auspicious start, but I'll try a few more routes.

Other than improved routing, my initial wish list would include:

1) Navigate to coordinates

2) Ability to select POIs for display on the map

3) Navigate to contacts

4) Some "live" functionality (such as petrol prices, weather, traffick)

5) Search for POIs beyond the immediate area

6) Route pre-planning including stops / waypoints

7) Pedesrtian / walking mode

8) Inclusion of podcasts in iPod controls

9) Ability to change routing preferences

10) Alternative route option, including roads to avoid, roadblock etc.

That'll do for now.

For anyone intrested like me who only has an ipod touch, the peripheral from the USA is $135.00 (£83.00) including delivery.

I think the camera database must be quite old. I passed some cameras today that I know went on the PGPSW database at least 2 months ago - they got me my lifetime membership - and they did not appear on Navmii.

Thanks, that's quite reasonable given it's £60ish without international shipping.

I got the purchase bug!!
I have been unhappy with the routes that both Navigon and Copilot produce so with this app using diffrent map data (Teleatlas) (the same as TT) I had to give it a go at this price
The result
My test route with Navmii was exactly the correct route (and same as my old TT gives)
So for the moment I will stick with Navmii and see what routes it produces in my day to day work
Like the speed cameras to !
I hope they update the basics soon. Lane assist etc is needed

Well, at least you got lifetime membership for a camera spot; more than I did Crying or Very sad

Anyway. the Navmii app runs nicely sat at my desk, not given it a proper whirl yet. I have managed to get the iPod song list stuck upside-down on occasion without it auto-rotating (bug ?).

I am looking forward to the maps of Europe, especially Spain.
