Look at the top of this page for "Free POIs and More". Click on Free POIs, then under the Transport category, you will find both Motorway Entries and Motorway Exits.

How far from each junction would you want these POIs?

What if 2 junctions are closer together than that distance?

I guess you realise these markers would only be visible at specific points on the map and wouldn't show continuously, in which case you would be better off getting this information from the signs by the road....

When you approach a POI, a TomTom will only display the icon for a POI category. If you want to display a different junction number for every junction that you approach, then you will need every junction in a separate category of its own.

More effort than it's worth, in my opinion.

SORRY - this seems to be the same basically as Daggers was suggesting, so probably won't help after all Embarassed

PGA_UK - I'm a little puzzled too, as to why you need to have the junction number displayed on your TT, when the Motorway exit sign gives the number anyway at bottom right (or left?) of the panel.

Still, you must have your reasons, so you may find this POI list useful

, which lists the junctions WITH their numbers, which will presumably appear on screen somehow with the motorway icon. You can open the list after you download it to see what it contains with an editor such as POIEdit.

It's from MaFt's (of PGPSW fame Razz ) POIs, so is designed for Garmin units. I guess you would therefore need to convert it to TT format, with POIEdit or whatever you use. I assume TT will then accept it, though I can't say how it will be handled as I don't use TT. Still hope it may be of some use.

I can actually follow why he wants junction numbering - think itinerary planning.

You know, I have been reading this thread and banging my head trying to remember.

I'm sure that at some time when using my TT710 or 720, I have heard the junction numbers being spoken. I was somewhat surprised because I wasn't expecting it. I can't for the life of me remember how it came about.
i did have the PGPSW motorway pois, but binned them because I didn't really need them. But I may have had a set from somewhere else as well - I just can't remember now.
Downloaded the PGPSW set again the other day and tried them, but as you say, they don't give the number.

I definitely remember going down the M4 and the junction numbers being spoken, even to J37 where it said I had to exit.

Not much help I know.

I'm actually a bit puzzled - but then as a non-TT man it's hardly surprising, I suppose - IF only the icon is shown with motorways, is that the case with all other POIs? If you are interested in restaurants, do you just get the icon with no indication of the info for the specific restaurant that's come in range? Or can you click on the icon (for instance) and get individual details?

I know - MMOBB Twisted Evil

Yes, that's exactly it.
On a TomTom, in normal driving view ONLY the icon for the POI category shows on screen. The actual name of the individual POI is never shown.
The only way to find it is to go to the browse map screen, locate the POI on screen and tap the POI's icon. The name is then shown as a pop up label.
This is almost impossible to do while driving!

It's one of the biggest missing features in my opinion.

... but of course, if you want to navigate to a specific POI, you can also see the name at the time when you are creating your route.

This also works for itinerary planning, so I'm still baffled as to why there should be a particular need to disp0lay motorway junction numbers on the screen as you are driving.

OK, forgive the terminally thick question, but MMOBB? The only explanation after a google search was "massively Multiplayer Online Bulliten Board", and that doesn't seem to fit! Question
