Hiya
Just bought a TOMTOM 940 Live from Amazon. They got it from Pentagon GPS.
It has arrived with a "Security Seal" but there is no cellophane wrap around the box.
After speaking to them they assured me that this how they come from TomTom.
Anyone else had this or does this seem to dubious ??
Cheers

None of the new boxes I have seen in pc World or Currys locally have had any shrink wrap or cellophane around them, just the small circular seal across the opening.
If I recall correctly, there was a note in a thread some time ago regarding the Serial number having an 'R' either at the front or the end. If you can do a search, it might help. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Neither of my Garmins (from Woolworths and Handtec) came shrink wrapped, and neither did either of my TomToms.
Even if it was a refurb it would be easy to re-shrink wrap it anyway.... |

IIRC my XL LIVE was shrink wrapped.
Would be difficult to tell a refurb unless it has obvious marks etc. |

Knowing TomTom, I wouldn't be surprised if they just run out of shrink wrap occasionally! |

Or all their shrinks were too busy answering the support phone lines and emails. _________________ Dennis
