Sorry about the confusion.
Thames View Infants/Junior Schools 51.370463 0.599261
Rainham Mark Grammar School 51.371160 0.593345
The Howard School 51.362543 0.593323
Rainham School for Girls 51.362543 0.593323
NB Howard and Rainham Girls have the same entrance.
The above are the main entrances to the schools.
I'll work on some others shortly and add them. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

I was sorting out the co-ords and after posting I noticed this.
Quote: | I think, as noted above that we need both (if we're going for a dual purpose POI). Children still use the vehicle access roads, for any number of reasons. |
So just to add
The Howard School & Rainham School for Girls.
In addition to the main entrance there is the footbridge entrance at
51.366283 0.594853
Also needed would be the exit road into Highfield Road
51.359932 0.592474
This is an exit only for cars but students can, and do, enter and leave at this point. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

If I recall the same thing was discussed with toilets. Split them into this category and that one. Never happened, but what we now have is a database of public toilets that is the best on any site on the net (for the UK defiantly, but other countries are growing) . Still plenty more out there but a penny or a euro well spent.
If we need a warning of anything possible thing that is approaching, should we be even driving?
I say get submitting and add details in the comments box as it is designed for, with what sort of access, type of school etc.
Oldboy is very good at taking the info you submit in the comments and compiling it, I know I've tested him well :-)
BTW Never just think of the UK there are other countries out there that you could submit for any category.
Keep up the good work.

Also the location details need to be checked carefully, as web data is notorious for being inaccurate.
As an example: Today I was hoping to have some prime Spare Time to do the things that I wanted to do. However, with over 80 submissions for 1 category, using Copy/Paste of the Web Data (and using the accuracy of the PostCode generated Maps they supply), it has taken me about 4 times longer on 90% of those submissions to change various fields, and even correct some of the locations. Time I could have better spent elsewhere.
Please, PLEASE don't except the data on Web Pages as gospel. If I accept everything as it's thrown at me, a few days later I have to go through the whole process again to make a correction. The point was made about Post Offices recently.
Believe me, I know what it's like to do a POI list. I did a lot of Fuel Station files, (some of you may remember my old website), and I didn't have the benefit of Google Maps accuracy and detail, that is available today.
It also helps if the boxes on the Submission Page are filled in following the Submission Guidelines.
Every bit of help I get aids me in giving you a better service. _________________ Richard

Like our friends at Tesco say, "Every little helps". You could ask "Why bother having road signs?"
@Lost_Property. Thanks for these details, hopefully this will be the kick start that we need. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

Hello Richard, The website in question has a database of every school in the country FOR SALE. Around about 30000 entries.
I have pointed them to this website and asked if they will be willing to help. Apparently, the database is suitable for use with Excel. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

Now I find out, after going through all the Medway Schools and pinpointing the entrances, I've just finished the 'S's', I may have wasted my time.
Shall I carry on? _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

This site is selling address details for schools throughout the country. They are charging around about £40 per county. I will not be buying this database, nor do I think that anyone reading this will buy it.
If they are feeling charitable then you will have wasted your time, but I have a sneaking suspicion that we will all need to carry on.... _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

Surely this is a non entry, i would have thought any foot person looking for a school would not be carrying an Satnav, and most foot people would be local and know the entrances _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

aj2052 wrote: | and most foot people would be local and know the entrances | The added "foot access" is not for the students but to alert those with car satnavs, that there could be "a situation" ahead, as mentioned earlier in the Thread. _________________ Richard

As you say Richard, POIs are primaraly for car navigation, In my view POIs are "Points of Interest", not "points of a Situation" That is the function of the speed cameras,
"KISS" springs to mind but not personally. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

I have had a reply this morning from SchoolsWebDirectory. They think that it is a very good idea and they will charge £350 + VAT to populate a website.
This is certainly out of the question for me. Would PGPSW be interested in purchasing the licence? I can forward the reply if interested. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

here's my 2p:
the poi's are for navigation purposes and i think they should stay the same. school's wise it may be beneficial to add the 'foot access' points too as it could be likely that you are dropping someone off there (eg for an interview, pick up a sick child etc) and you don't need to go through the main driveway.
if you want then you can set up alerts for these POIs but then where do you stop? how about bus stops - there will be lots of children there; or parks? the list could go on...
as a safety aid i think it's better to keep an eye out in built up areas for where children could be than to rely on a poi set of schools.
